“ It was 6pm. It was our first meal of the day. It was our first meal in Madeira. We ate outside, the food was delish. We had local specialities and we were not disappointed! The "garlic" bread and the lapas : very tasty and quite big portions as well. Then we had the octopus and the regional skewer. I personally felt for the meat, it was amazing. I was less convinced by the octopus but my friend loved it. Finally we had the moelleux with ice cream great dessert! The service was great, the waiters were very friendly and kind (I was very clumsy, dropped my knife and spilled my drink on the table... They changed the table clothe and didn't seem annoyed (very sorry for that again)). Great restaurant! ”

“ We came here tonight with a befriended couple. We were slightly hesitant at the beginning because of some of the reviews, but went there anyway because of the good review in de Lonely Planet. The food was great! I had the local fish with banana (espada) and the other three had the local skewer (estapeda). Both were great! The ladies had the passion fruit flavoured pudding, which everybody liked as well! Got some free Madeira whine shots as well. Service was good, friendly (made some funny jokes as well) and fast. We sat outside btw. Nothing bad to be found here I would say. ”
